With the print designed and produced from the mapping of the actual geographic tube map.
NOT YOUR TYPICAL MAP
The print is densely packed with hundreds of illustrations representing both well known facts and new discoveries. There’s a giant bagel – to illustrate a famous 24-hour Jewish bakery in Brick Lane; and Del Boy’s beloved Peckham, shown by his three-wheeler and catchphrase ‘Lovely Jubbly’. Among the other points of interest are markets, pubs, parks, along with tidbits of local history – such as a reference to Van Gogh the 19h-century Dutch painter, who lodged in Stockwell, south-west London for six months.
The map covers most of zones 1 and 2; it goes as far north as Cricklewood, Stoke Newington and Hackney Marshes. The south covers all areas up to and including Brockley, Herne Hill, Dulwich and Putney Heath. The east of the map goes as far as West Ham, Canning Town, Greenwich. The most western parts of the map are Barnes, White City and Willesden Junction.
It took two months of intensive research before Jenni even started the illustration process! She then spent two and a half months painstakingly drawing this beautifully detailed map.
This print is sold unframed but is A1 in size so should fit comfortably into standard sized frames. It comes carefully wrapped in tissue paper and rolled into a protective card tube.
